Realme GT Series To Get Android 12-Based Realme UI 3.0, See Features

Realme GT will be the first series of smartphones to receive an Android 12 operating system upgrade, and it is set to go official soon. In its latest release, the Chinese smartphone brand confirmed that the upcoming GT lineup will be among the first smartphones in the world to get the latest OS upgrade. Android 12 will be rolled out as a stable build on October 4.


The Realme GT series will receive the Android 12 upgrade with the company’s custom interface dubbed the Realme UI 3.0. A myriad of other smartphones will be receiving Realme UI 3.0, based on the latest Android 12 soon. Realme is set to make the new OS available globally in the next few days. Regrettably, the company did not divulge the exact launch date for the Realme UI 3.0. However, it is likely to share a list of devices that will be receiving the upgrade soon on the Realme Community forum.

Aside from confirming that the Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 will launch soon, Realme has suggested that the Realme GT series will be among the first smartphones to receive the stable version of the company’s new UI. According to the company, users will have to apply on its community forum to get the update. The Realme UI 3.0 is tipped to bring a host of improvements.

For instance, it will offer better security, and privacy, customisability, fluency, and enhanced functionality. Furthermore, this refreshed UI will deliver a superior experience as compared to the previous generation Realme UI 2.0. According to the company, Realme UI now has more than a whopping 100 million users across the world. The radically overhauled UI will boast a new design for menus and include new wallpapers and themes.

Last month, Realme Vice President Xu Qi Chase took the wraps off the Realme UI 3.0 during the Realme GT Neo 2 launch event. The new UI will reportedly offer some features available on its parent company Oppo’s ColorOS 12. Furthermore, the Android 12 upgrade does not retain Android’s current industrial design. Its new lock screen design can dynamically adjust to the theme. Moreover, the color schemes of the menus and buttons will automatically adjust.

The new operating system’s overhauled core architecture reportedly consumes 20 percent lesser peak CPU power. As a result, the software will run smoother even when the hardware gets old. It is still unclear what features will the Realme UI 3.0 offer. However, rumors making the rounds online suggest that the custom Android 12 interface will have a new notifications center, sporting a design that aligns with the Android 12 stock interface.


Aside from that, it will reportedly support dynamic RAM expansion depending on the available storage. Earlier reports even claim that the new feature set will support face-based auto-rotate. On top of that, it will reportedly come with improved storage management, as well as an Android 12 Privacy Dashboard. The Realme GT series includes the GT Master Edition and the GT 5G in India. The Realme GT Neo 2 could hit the store shelves in the country soon.
