The Sky is the limit

By now we’ve all seen the hair-raising videos of the Sky Hi Ride spotted on the rooftop of the new addition to the Cape Town skyline – the red tower glowing brightly at the top of Hotel Sky, but there’s a lot more to this spot than this exhilarating ride.

The large lavish gold lobby complete with elegant chandeliers and tropical aesthetic additions, welcomes you, along with two AI-powered robots – a first for the city, while the Hotel Sky app assists with check-in, controls your room’s TV, and allows you to view the restaurant menus when you visit.

Situated across the road from the Cape Town International Conference Centre (CTICC) and on the City Sight Seeing bus route – Hotel Sky is great for business and leisure travellers. And once all the lockdown regulations are lifted it will be a fantastic option for conference-goers.

Rooms

It is by far one of the biggest hotels in the city and houses 535 elegantly designed rooms and suites. The rooms are compact but provide comfort, a great space to work, superfast wifi and fantastic views – if you have a sea-facing room be sure to draw the blind and start your day with some quiet time watching the sunrise. Each floor has a coffee station which you have access to 24/7 – make a cup, take it to your room or sit in the nook and catch up on some work with views of Table Mountain in the foreground.

Wine and dine

Thanks to the hotel’s location – one of the most exquisite features of Hotel Sky is the view from the Infinity Restaurant on the 26th floor. The panoramic views across the city with Table Mountain on your left, the Waterfront straight ahead and Table Bay harbour on your right, are breathtaking and worth a visit.

It is a great place for easy, delicious meals like alcohol-free beer-battered hake, prawn tagliatelle in a spicy tomato bisque sauce or smoked chicken breast with green beans, or kick back with some cocktails. The restaurant is also open to the public and booking is essential. To make a reservation at Infinity, please email info@infinityrestaurant.capetown.

City access

Guests can access cabs and Ubers easily in the city. The hotel is located a few minutes from the trendy Bree Street with an array of restaurants and bars to choose from as well as the popular V&A Waterfront ideal for some shopping. And being on the City Sightseeing Bus route it is great to hop on and off at some touristy spots in the city.
